Does your partner know about your shy yes?
One of the answers in the Privé quiz is “Yes, but I’m shy about it.” Pick it, and after the quiz you get one more question: does your partner know you want this? Here’s how people answer.
Counted by person rather than by answer, 41% of the people who answered named at least one activity they believe their partner isn’t aware of.
The question, word for word
Every activity in the quiz has four possible answers. One of them is “Yes, but I’m shy about it.” Anyone who picks it at least once sees, after the quiz, a list of every activity they answered that way, with a question at the top.
Which version you see depends on your partner: “Does he know you want this?” or “Does she know you want this?” Each activity gets two buttons, “Yes” and “No.” The screen also says: “He won’t see what you tap here” (or “She”). Answering is optional, and the whole screen can be skipped.
Who answered
Couples who started the game on or after September 9, 2026, the day both partners started getting this question.
| People | Couples | |
|---|---|---|
| Finished the quiz | 44,470 | 38,649 |
| Got the follow-up question (at least one shy yes) | 24,467 | 22,088 |
| Answered it | 13,687 | 12,348 |
Shy yeses in this period: 55,127. With an answer to the follow-up question: 28,365 (52%).
Women and men
The share of “No” answers to the follow-up question, for women and for men separately.
Where partners most often don’t know
The share of “No” answers for each activity. Only activities answered by at least 100 different couples make the list.
Method
The follow-up question is optional: people can skip the screen or answer only some activities. 56% of the people who got it answered, so these results describe that group, not every player. Skipped activities aren’t counted, because a missing answer doesn’t mean the partner doesn’t know.
The follow-up screen also nudges people to answer, with the line “Your answers here help us tailor the report for both of you,” and that nudge may shape what they tap.
An answer tells us what the person believes their partner knows. Whether the partner really knows is something this data can’t show. We count couples who started the game on or after September 9, 2026, across all three language versions of the game, excluding test accounts. Our other Insights pages cover every couple since the game launched. This one starts on that date, because before it the question went to only one partner in each couple, as part of an experiment.
People answer right after finishing their own quiz, before they see any shared results. That’s true for both partners: whoever finishes first is still waiting for the other to play, and whoever finishes second gets the question before the report opens. The question only appears in the free round, which a couple plays once. Until October 23, 2026, some couples could replay that round after seeing their report and answer a second time. Answers from such a replay aren’t counted. Only the latest answer is stored, so where a replay replaced an earlier one, that activity drops out of the count for that person. If a couple starts a new game, they count as new people there, since the data doesn’t link one game to another.
The screen promises that the partner won’t see these answers, so we publish totals only. The gender split and each activity show up only once at least 100 different couples are behind them, and the page as a whole needs at least 500 couples. No answer can be traced to a person or a couple.
